Abstract:

This sound production apparatus 1 for a vehicle is mounted in a vehicle 2 that travels using an electric motor 3 as a power source, and is provided with: a sound control device 10 that sets multiple frequencies f1-f9 according to the motor rotation speed R and generates a synthetic sound signal SS representing a synthetic sound SC composed of the sounds in multiple frequencies; and a speaker 20 that outputs the synthetic sound SC on the basis of the synthetic sound signal SS generated by the sound control device 10, wherein, in response to an increase in a motor torque value T, the sound control device 10 sets, within the frequency range of the synthetic sound SC, the amount of increase of the output of sounds in a low frequency band to be greater than the amount of increase of the output of sounds in a high frequency band.
