A sound quality adjustment device for a vehicle proximity notification device that generates a signal for notification sound for emission outside an electric moving body, from a sound generator provided in the electric moving body, said electric moving body generating at least part of the driving force therefor by using an electric motor. The sound quality adjustment device comprises: a phoneme storage unit (82) that stores phoneme data that becomes the basis for the notification sound; a sound source sound quality extraction unit (1) that analyses this phoneme data and extracts characteristics values relating to the sound quality of the phonemes; a parameter setting unit (10) that finds parameters that convert the phoneme data in accordance with vehicle information, using the characteristics values for the phonemes extracted in this sound source sound quality extraction unit (1); and a parameter storage unit (81) that stores parameters found using this parameter setting unit (10).
