Abstract:
A downmixing unit 110 obtains a downmixed signal that is a signal obtained by mixing an inputted left channel input sound signal and an inputted right channel input sound signal. A left channel signal subtraction unit 130 and a right channel signal subtraction unit 150 respectively encode differences between the input sound signals and the products of the downmixed signal and subtraction gains regarding a left channel and a right channel. In the abovementioned configuration, a left channel subtraction gain estimation unit 120 and a right channel subtraction gain estimation unit 140 each determine the subtraction gain such that a quantization error caused by coding/decoding decreases.
