Abstract:
Provided are a spatial optical receiver and a spatial optical communication method capable of expanding tolerance to tracking errors while suppressing the increase of a circuit size. This spatial optical communication receiver includes: a multimode fiber; a reception optical system that converges a signal light on the end surface of the multimode fiber; and a signal processing unit that reproduces, as a received signal, the signal light propagated through the multimode fiber, wherein the spot shape of the signal light converged by the reception optical system on the end surface of the multimode fiber is asymmetrical.
