The present application provides a splash immersion battery thermal management system and a control method. The splash immersion battery thermal management system comprises: a box body provided with an accommodating cavity for mounting a battery module; and a water inlet system comprising a water inlet end and a spraying end, wherein the water inlet end comprises a water inlet pipe, the water inlet pipe is communicated with the spraying end, the spraying end is arranged in the accommodating cavity, the water inlet pipe extends out of the box body from the interior of the accommodating cavity, the spraying end is provided with a plurality of spraying parts, some of the plurality of spraying parts are arranged in the width and length directions of the bottom of the accommodating cavity, and the remaining spraying parts are arranged in the height direction of the side wall of the accommodating cavity. According to the present application, the box body is provided for accommodating the battery module, and the water inlet system is communicated with the box body, such that the battery module is immersed in a cooling liquid flowing into the box body from the water inlet system, and the efficiency of the battery thermal management system is effectively improved.
