Description:
SPORT TRAINING DEVICE

The present invention relates to a sports training device.

More in detail, the invention relates to a training device, of a portable type, capable of allowing a variety of exercises for stimulating and training the majority of muscle groups.

Nowadays, there are different types of exercises for training specific muscles and/or muscle groups, for example, a relatively popular exercise for exercising the abdominal muscles is known as an abdominal bridge, better known as a 'plank'.

In particular, during this exercise, the body is placed in a prone position with the legs straight or bent and the toes or knees touching a supporting surface, supporting the upper body with the hands or forearms while the head, back and glutes remain aligned and off the ground. The idea behind this type of exercise is to hold the body in a horizontal upright position using the core muscles to stabilise the body; example variations of this exercise may include the use of an arm or hand to support the body in a lateral position.

Additionally, this type of exercise can also be performed on a plank that oscillates with respect to the floor, where, however, it is not possible to perform all possible types of exercises, especially in isometric, i.e. static, mode.

For example, in the case of practising lateral planking, when the user leans sideways, the boards used today tend to slide on the floor, forcing the user to have to move his or her feet to remain correctly aligned with the wobble board; furthermore, these boards are often fixedly installed in gyms and therefore it is not envisaged that they could be portable and therefore transportable.

On the basis of the foregoing, at present, there is no sports training device, in particular for abdominal bridge or 'plank', designed in such a way as to simultaneously meet all of the above requirements.

The scope of the present invention is, therefore, to overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks and, in particular, to make a device for sports training, which allows a variety of different exercises to be performed both in an isometric, i.e. static, and in a dynamic manner.

A further scope of the present invention is to realise a sports training device of the portable type, capable of performing a plurality of physical exercises, without modifications to the structure of the device itself.

A further scope of the present invention is to realise a sports training device which is compact, light, immediately usable and, therefore, does not require any type of installation.

Last but not least, the scope of the present invention is to realise a sports training device such as to guarantee full and easy transportability, allowing the exploitation of the same in any sector, only by way of example, home training or "home fitness", gyms, sports centres, amateur and professional sports associations.

These and other scope are achieved by making a training device, according to claim 1 appended hereto; other detailed technical features of the training device, according to the present invention, are set forth in the dependent claims.

Further features and advantages of the training device, which is the subject matter of the present invention, will be more apparent from the following description, relating to an exemplary and preferred, but not limiting, embodiment of the training device in question and with reference to the appended drawings, wherein:

- Figure 1A shows a front view of the sports training device, which is the object of the present invention;

- figure 1 B shows a front view of the device of figure 1A, on which an electronic device is placed, according to a first positioning configuration;

- Figure 1 C shows a further front view of the device of figure 1A, wherein the electronic device is placed according to a second positioning configuration;

- Figure 2A shows a side view of the training device of figure 1A, when placed on a supporting surface, such as the ground;

- Figures 2B and 2C show two perspective views of the training device of figure 2A, respectively; - Figures 3A and 3B show two bottom views of the training device of Figures 1A and 2A, according to the present invention;

- Figure 4A shows a perspective view of the training device of figures 1A, 2A and 3A, when placed on a support means, in particular when it is to be put away, for example, at the end of its use, according to the present invention;

- Figure 4B shows a detail view of the support means for the training device of figure 4A, according to the present invention.

With reference to the above-mentioned figures, by 10 is generically indicated a sports training device according to the present invention.

By way of example only, as visible in Figure 1 A, the training device, which is the subject matter of the present invention comprises a base 11 having a substantially flat shape and, preferably, a trapezoidal geometry so as to reflect the typical positioning of a user's arms or hands during exercise and to be apt to optimally unload any load exerted on it during use.

Advantageously, the device 10 as conceived is a single piece and, for this reason, does not require any installation, being immediately usable and transportable.

Further, the aforementioned device 10 according to the present invention can be made of different materials chosen to make its structure light and, therefore, easily transportable but, at the same time, such that it can withstand loads of up to 150 kg.

By way of example only, the device 10 may be made of materials such as wood, or plastic materials such as, preferably, polypropylene, or, further, of carbon, metal or other suitable material.

Advantageously, in the event that the device 10 is made of plastic- type materials, each of its component parts can be produced by injection moulding.

As visible in the above figures, the base 11 of the training device 10 comprises an upper facade, substantially opposite the ground when the device 10 is in use, and a lower facade, opposite the upper facade, and substantially facing the ground when the device 10 is in use.

Advantageously, in correspondence with the upper facade of the base 11 , the device 10 comprises two oblong-shaped, padded and ergonomic housings 11A and 11 B, substantially placed in correspondence with two parallel sides of the base 11 and such as to follow the geometry thereof. In particular, when the base 11 is substantially trapezoidal in shape said two housings 11 A and 11 B will be substantially in correspondence with two inclined and opposite sides of said trapezium. In detail, said two housings 11 A and 11 B are adapted to receive and allow the support of a user's arms/arm or hands.

Advantageously, the two housings 11 A and 11 B can be made of any suitable material offering adequate comfort and durability, including, but not limited to, rubber, foam, felt, polyethylene foam or other suitable materials.

Further, again on the side of the upper facade of the base 11 , in particular, substantially comprised between the two housings 11 A and 11 B, as visible in detail in Figures 1 B and 1 C, there is a recessed section 12, substantially in the shape of an inverted "T", such as to receive and hold an electronic device 20 such as, just for example, a mobile phone, a tablet, etc. In greater detail, the electronic device 20, precisely because the recessed section 12 has an inverted "T" shape, can be placed within it, advantageously, both in a horizontal position, according to a first positioning configuration as visible in figure 1 B, and in a vertical position, according to a second positioning configuration as visible in figure 1 C.

Moreover, from the lower portion of the base 11 , in correspondence with the centre of said base 11 there is a destabilizing device 13. In detail, the destabilizing device 13 comprises a circular plan in correspondence with the base 11 and a hemispherical profile, wherein, again advantageously, said hemispherical profile is adapted to come into contact, with its convex portion, with the ground and to act as a fulcrum to allow the oscillatory movement of the device 10, so that the same can rotate on itself and tilt both laterally and frontally.

Advantageously, the destabilizing device 13 allows the freedom of movement of the device 10 by also acting as an unstable support to the device 10; in fact, in the type of sports exercises that can be practised with the device 10 the instability of the device 10 itself is advantageously indicated to train the aforementioned muscles.

In detail, during use, the device 10 will be able to incline at fairly steep angles in such a way as to make the user's training more challenging, without, however, making the angles of inclination of the same too extreme, while still ensuring practical use.

Advantageously, the aforementioned destabilizing device 13 comprises a crown 131 with a circular plan which is fixed with respect to said lower facade of the base 11 .

Again advantageously, in preferred, but not limiting embodiments, the destabilizing device 13 is substantially one piece with said base 11 . By way of example only, this configuration is particularly advantageous when the device 10 is made of plastic, in particular by injection moulding, as mentioned above.

Alternatively, in a further embodiment, the destabilizing device 13, in particular the circular crown 131 thereof is substantially a single piece with the lower facade of the base 11 while, the related hemispherical profile is an additional piece advantageously placed and fixed or embedded on the said crown 131 of the device 13.

Further, in other exemplifying embodiments, when the destabilizing device 13 is an additional piece with respect to the base 11 , the crown 131 thereof is fixable on the lower face of the base 11 by means of fixing means 133, in particular screws or alternatively by its embedding in a special recess in the lower facade of the base 11 .

In certain embodiments, the destabilizing device 13 is made of materials such as to ensure, on the one hand, a low friction to favour the oscillation and, therefore, the movement of the device 10 but, likewise, the hemispherical profile must be such as to prevent the device 10 from sliding when in use.

Further, the destabilizing device 13 comprises a plurality of fins 132 placed between said crown 131 and the hemispherical portion of the destabilizing device 13, so as to be placed in a circular manner around the same, in order to ensure the correct oscillation of the device 10.

Finally, advantageously, the sports training device 10, which is the object of the present invention, further comprises a support means 30, such that it can be supported vertically with respect to the ground, limiting its bulk when not in use and/or when on display.

Advantageously, the support means 30 has a substantially flat and sinusoidal shape such that it can be placed on the ground, as visible in Figure 4A, increasing the support portion and balance of the device 10 when stored.

Further, with reference to figure 4B, the support means 30 includes two support feet 31. It has thus been found that the solution which is the object of the present invention achieves the intended purposes; therefore, it is clear from the description made that the characteristics of the sports training device which is the object of the present invention are clear, as are its advantages.

Finally, it is clear that numerous variations may be made to the training device in question, without departing from the principles of novelty inherent in the inventive idea which is the subject matter of the appended claims, just as it is clear that, in the practical implementation of the invention, the materials, shapes and sizes of the details illustrated may be any as required and the same may be replaced with others which are technically equivalent.
