Abstract:
A spread spectrum clock generation apparatus (10), comprising: a monitoring module (13) for monitoring the depth of a first-in-first-out (FIFO) memory (12) and feeding the depth of the FIFO memory (12) back to a spread spectrum clock generator (SSCG) (14); the FIFO memory (12) for caching data; and the SSCG (14) for receiving a first clock signal (CLK1) and the depth, fed back by the monitoring module (13), of the FIFO memory (12), adjusting the quantity of frequency division for the SSCG (14) according to the depth of the FIFO memory (12) so as to obtain adjusted quantity of frequency division, and performing spectrum spreading on the first clock signal (CLK1) according to the adjusted quantity of frequency division so as to generate a spread spectrum clock signal (SSC). By monitoring the depth of an FIFO memory (12) in real time, continuously adjusting the quantity of frequency division of a spread spectrum clock generator (SSCG) (14) according to the depth of the FIFO memory (12), then generating a spread spectrum clock signal (SSC) according to the adjusted frequency division quantity, a central frequency of the spread spectrum clock signal (SSC) at different time periods is alternately higher or lower, and thus a central frequency of the spread spectrum clock signal (SSC) at a whole time period remains stable.
