Abstract:
This squirrel-cage induction motor 10 has a squirrel-cage rotor 40 wherein a cage conductor 430, which is formed integrally with a rotor core 420 having arranged therein a circumferential configuration of a plurality of slots 424, has a plurality of secondary conductors 434 that are housed in the respective slots, and each of the secondary conductors 434 has a plurality of conductor portions 434i, 434o that are divided in a radial direction of the squirrel-cage rotor. In each of those conductor portions, the position of the slot in which the conductor portion is housed at one end side in the axial direction and the position of the slot in which the conductor portion is housed at the axially other end side are out of alignment with each other by a distance of p-number of slots (p is an integer of 1 or greater) in the circumferential direction. Each of the conductor portions has, along the way in the axial direction, translocation part 434im, 434om where translocation of the slot position on the one end side to the slot position on the other end side occurs. The conductor portions that are adjacent to each other in the radial direction are configured to have translocation directions that are mutually inversely oriented at the respective translocation parts.
