Abstract:
An embodiment disclosed herein provides a solid state drive (SSD) device comprising: an interface logic connected to a host; non-volatile memory in which data is stored; and a controller for controlling the non-volatile memory, wherein the controller converts a logical address provided by the host into a physical address for the non-volatile memory and accesses the non-volatile memory on the basis of the physical address. The controller converts the logical address into the physical address on the basis of indexing information stored in a plurality of layers composed of a log-structured merge tree (LSM-tree) which is a hierarchical structure. At least two of a plurality of layers of the LSM-tree use different modes of storing the indexing information based on mapping of the logical address and the physical address corresponding to the logical address.
