Abstract:
A stacker (10) comprising a housing (18) having an intake port (20) and a delivery port (22), a tray (14) disposed liftably under the delivery port of the housing, and a feeding mechanism which feeds a printed sheet from the intake port to the delivery port and delivers it through the delivery port onto the tray. The sheet feeding speed of the feeding mechanism is controlled in three steps: an intake speed (V¿1?) obtained when a sheet is taken in from the intake port, a feeding speed (V¿2?) obtained when the sheet is fed from the intake port to the delivery port, and a delivery speed (V¿3?) obtained when the sheet is delivered from the delivery port onto the tray. The feeding speed is higher than the intake speed, and the delivery speed is higher than the feeding speed. Thus, even when a recessed curl-shaped sheet taken from a printer is fed and delivered onto the tray with its front surface facing upward, the sheet can be prevented from leaning on the back plate of the housing and a problem that a faulty sheet loading occurs during automatic operation can be solved.
