Abstract:
Provided is a standard ball array-based geometric error detection method for a machine tool; a set of pre-determined sphere center positions of a standard ball array are compared and calculated, on a machine, with the sphere center positions of the standard ball array detected by a numerical-control machine-tool measurement head, and kinematic homogeneous transformation and a least squares method are used to detect and identify six standard spherical array coordinate system deviation errors and any 1-15 of 15 machine geometry errors; the steps are the following: first, establishing a measurement coordinate system wherein the coordinate system origin is located at the center of one of the spheres in a standard sphere subarray, an XY plane of the coordinate system is parallel to the plane where the standard sphere array is located, the sides of a rectangle or rectangular grid formed by the coordinate system X-axis and said standard sphere subarray are parallel or vertical; the positions of the centers of the other standard ball arrays are indicated by the values of the coordinates of their centers in said measurement coordinate system. The invention solves the problem of long detection and identification time of machine-tool geometric errors, and has a short detection cycle.
