Abstract:
A staple sheet detection mechanism of an electric stapler capable of increasing the detection accuracy and the size thereof, comprising a passage (55) for feeding a staple sheet (54) formed of straight forward staples arranged parallel to each other, wherein a forming plate (46) and a driver (48) are disposed above an anvil (56A) in the passage (55) and moved to a staple (54A) side to insert a formed staple (54A) into copying paper positioned under the staple (54A), a sensor (swing member) (57) having one end part (57A) coming into contact with the tip part of the staple sheet (54) in feeding direction and the other end part (57B) turning on and off an interrupter (detection element) (63) is installed at a position above the anvil (56A) where the forming plate (46) is waiting, the swing pivot (57C) of the sensor (57) is provided in the passage (55) nearer to a staple sheet (54) side, and recessed parts (46A) and (48A) allowing the swing of the sensor (57) are provided in the forming plate (46) and the driver (48).
