Abstract:

A pusher (16) that presses a formed staple (2) into a drive-out passage (12) is integrally formed with a guide portion (19) that enters between both legs (2b) of the staple (2). A slope face (20) that engages with the staple (2) and reverses the pusher is provided on the guide portion (19) at a position where the slope face does not engage with the staple (2) until the tips of the staple legs (2b) penetrate through sheets of paper to be bound. Operating phases of a driver plate (7) and a forming plate (6) are shifted so that the forming plate (6) starts the forming of an unformed staple (2a) after the staple legs (2b) that are driven out have penetrated through the sheets of paper to be bound.
