Abstract:
An engine is cranked when the engine speed (Ne) is no more than an upper limit value α set in advance when engine start conditions have been satisfied. The upper limit value α is modified in accordance with the operation by the driver. The upper limit value α for the case in which the driver has performed an operation to start movement of the vehicle is greater than the upper limit value (α) for the case in which the state of the vehicle has changed.
