Abstract:
Provided is a stator wherein the entire coil end can be cooled substantially uniformly, and when the quantity of refrigerant to be circulated is increased, the current velocity of refrigerant flowing through a cooling path increases to enhance cooling efficiency.  A stator (1) includes a coil end (12) which is provided, continuously to a slot conductor (11) inserted into each of a plurality of slots (2), with a plurality of axial conductors (13)  extending, respectively, from the plurality of slots (2) to the axial outside of the stator, and a cover member (20) having a body (21) which covers at least the outer circumferential surface of the coil end (12) over the entire circumference, accommodation chambers which are formed on the radial inside of the body (21) and accommodate the plurality of axial conductors (13) individually, and an introduction path (23) which introduces refrigerant into the accommodation chambers, wherein the gap between the inner wall surface of the accommodation chamber and the axial conductor (13) is the cooling path through which the refrigerant introduced from the introduction path (23) circulates.
