Abstract:

A steam cooker, wherein when a food formed of a granular or linear aggregate such as boiled rice and chow mein is heated, a steam-heating heater is not energized or energized with a very weak power to substantially prevent a steam supplied from steam supply tubes (94A to 94C) from being heated. The steam at the temperatures of 80 to 90ºC supplied from the steam supply tube (94B) is jetted from the opening (111a) of a steam jetting tube (111) directly downward. Accordingly, the steam around the end part of the steam jetting tube (111) in a dish-shaped case (51) is pulled in by the steam jetted from the opening (111a), and the large amount of steam is jetted onto one bowl of boiled rice and one dish of chow mein. As a result, for example, since the surface of the grains of the boiled rice can be prevented from being heated beyond 100ºC, the condensation of the steam on the surface of the grains of the boiled rice can be efficiently performed, and the supply of condensed latent heat and the penetration of condensed water (hot water) to the grains of the boiled rice can be efficiently performed.
