Abstract:
Conventionally, either the moving blades of a steam turbine are provided with grooves extending in the blade-length direction and the upper edge of the blade was configured so as to coincide with the end surface of the blade cover, or holes were formed in the blade cover in order to remove the moisture adhering to the blade. However, increasing the number of grooves increases the surface area connecting the outside and the inside of the blade cover and results and greater steam loss. In order to resolve this problem, a tip cover (3) is provided on the tip of a blade (1), and a drain guide groove (4) is provided on the moving blade-side side surface of the tip cover (3). Moisture trapping grooves (2) provided on the blade (1) extend in the length-direction of the blade, and the drain guide groove (4) is positioned above the moisture trapping grooves (2). The drain guide groove (4) is connected to a moisture spout (5) provided on the tip cover (3). The moisture adhering to the blade (1) moves through the moisture trapping grooves (2) and the drain guide groove (4) to be ejected from the moisture spout (5) into a drain pocket (7). Such a constitution allows the elimination of moisture adhering to the blade (1) via a single moisture spout.
