Abstract:
A steel ball rolling structure and constant velocity universal joint having
an excellent oil retaining effect between the surface of a ball and a mating rolling
surface, in which a thick oil film is formed to improve lubrication properties,
providing the ball with long service life. The constant velocity universal
joint has a rolling surface and a steel ball (7) rolling while being lubricated
with grease. The surface roughness of the steel ball (7) is set closer to that
of the mating rolling surface. A large number of microscopic recesses (15) with
the size of several tens of micrometers are randomly arranged on the surface of
the steel ball (7).
