Title:
STEEL FOR HIGH-FREQUENCY HARDENING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/248556
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a steel that is for high-frequency hardening, that has excellent cold forging properties, and with which it is possible to omit annealing prior to cold forging and omit heat treatment for thermal refining prior to high-frequency hardening in a production process for high-frequency hardened components. This steel for high-frequency hardening contains, as a component composition, 0.36-0.55 mass% of C, 0.10 mass% or less of Si, 0.15-0.45 mass% of Mn, 0.050 mass% or less of P, 0.050 mass% or less of S, 0.010-0.090 mass% of Al, 0.05-0.35 mass% of Mo, 0.010-0.200 mass% of Ti, 0.0005-0.0100 mass% of B, and 0.0150 mass% or less of N, the remaining portion being Fe and impurities. In the steel, the sum fraction of a ferrite structure and a perlite structure is 80% or more, and the fraction of the ferrite structure is 40% or more.
