Abstract:
The present invention provides a steel sheet which has both high strength and excellent toughness at low temperatures, while having excellent productivity. The present invention provides a steel sheet which has a specific component composition and a microstructure wherein: the volume fraction of residual austenite at 1/4 the sheet thickness is less than 3.0%; the maximum particle grain size of prior austenite grains at 1/2 the sheet thickness is 100 µm or less; and the ratio b/a of the average b of the top 5% of the prior austenite grain sizes to the average grain size a of prior austenite grains at 1/2 the sheet thickness is 4.5 or less. This steel sheet has a sheet thickness of 40 mm or less, a yield strength of 585 MPa or more and a tensile strength of 690 MPa or more.
