Abstract:
This steel wire for wire drawing comprises, in mass%, 0.9-1.2％ of C, 0.1-1.0％ of Si, 0.2-1.0％ of Mn, and 0.2-0.6％ of Cr as chemical components. Al, N, P, and S are limited to prescribed ranges. At least one selected from the group consisting of 0-0.20% of Mo and 0-0.0030% of B is contained. The remainder comprises Fe and impurities. The structure includes pearlite. The ratio of pearlite is at least 95% by volume. The average lamellar interval of pearlite is 50-75nm. The average length of cementite in the pearlite is 2.0-5.0μm. The ratio of cementite having a length of 0.5μm or less to all cementite in the pearlite is 20% or less.
