Abstract:
The present invention provides a steel wire rod having a lubricating coating film, which is capable of achieving a good balance between workability such as wire drawability, spiking properties, ball ironing properties and film removability and corrosion resistance such as long-term rust prevention properties.
A steel wire rod which is characterized by having a lubricating coating film on the surface, said lubricating coating film not containing phosphorus but containing a water-soluble silicate and a water-soluble tungstate so that the mass ratio of (water-soluble tungstate)/(water-soluble silicate) is within the range of 0.7-10.
