Abstract:
Provided is a steer-by-wire vehicle steering device having a motor shaft (20) supported to be rotatable around an axis that is offset from the rotation axis of a steering shaft (4), and a power transmission mechanism (6) that couples the motor shaft (20) and the steering shaft (4) such that torque can be transmitted, wherein an electromagnetic brake (7), which switches between a rotation-permitting state of permitting rotation of the motor shaft (20) and a rotation-braking state of impeding rotation of the motor shaft (20) by switching between energization and non-energization, is provided on the same axis as the motor shaft (20).
