Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a steering apparatus with which an operation lever can be operated with the same operational feel even if an upper column slides and the fastening position of a fastening mechanism changes. [Solution] This steering apparatus includes a steering shaft, a steering column, a bracket, and a fastening mechanism. An upper column includes a clamp part, a cylindrical part, a pair of projecting parts, and contact ribs. The clamp part has a contiguous clamp part and a separate clamp part. Each projecting part includes a contiguous projecting part and a separate projecting part. The contact ribs include a pair of first contact ribs that are disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the clamp part, a pair of second contact ribs that are respectively disposed on side surfaces of the projecting parts on the side opposite from the first contact ribs with long grooves therebetween, and at least one third contact rib that is disposed on a side surface of one separate projecting part and between a first contact rib and a long groove. The third contact rib projects more than the first contact ribs and the second contact ribs.
