Abstract:
The steering control device for a vehicle, the steer-by-wire system, and the method for controlling a steer-by-wire system according to this invention apply, when an abnormality of a rotation angle sensor for a turning motor is detected, open-loop control to the turning motor on the basis of a rotation angle of a motor shaft before the detection of the abnormality of the rotation angle sensor and information on a reaction force generation device which applies a reaction force torque to a steering wheel. With this configuration, the control for the turning angle can be continued even after the rotation angle sensor for the turning motor fails while an increase in system cost is suppressed.
