Abstract:

In order to provide a steering device having high operability and which reduces hitting sounds generated when releasing a tightened clamp mechanism, a steering device (1) comprises a clamp mechanism having: shaft part (25) cross-linked to a vehicle frame-attachment bracket (22) supporting a steering column (2); a fixed cam member (26) and a movable cam member (27) that engage cam protrusions (30, 33) facing each other and, working in conjunction, move the shaft part (25) in the axial direction; and an operation lever (28) that causes the movable cam member to be movable. A shock absorbing member (50) is provided between a first stopper section (26b) in the fixed cam member (26) and a second stopper section (27b) in the movable cam member (27).
