Abstract:
This steering wheel suspension device (10) is provided with: a knuckle as a support member that rotatably supports a steering wheel; two lower arms (31, 32) that, as the two lower joining points provided below the knuckle, respectively and independently join to joints (21, 22); and two upper arms (41, 42) that, as the two upper joining points provided above the knuckle, respectively and independently join to joints (23, 24). The joining positions of the two lower arms (31, 32) and the two upper arms (41, 42) to the knuckle are set in a manner so that a second extension line (AP2) rectilinearly linking the two joints (23, 24) has a greater degree of facing towards the inside of the vehicle alongside being oriented in the forward direction of the vehicle compared to a first extension line (AP1) rectilinearly linking the two joints (21, 22). As a result, it is possible to provide a technology that is effective in reducing rack shaft force during steering without providing limitations on rack stroke or arm layout.
