Title:
STEPLESS TRANSMISSION FOR HEAVY LOADS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1980/001402
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A stepless transmission adapted for less wear and capable of stepless shifting from stop to maximum speed by a simple operation even under heavy loads, but which is also capable of variable high speeds even under a loaded condition. In a planetary gear arrangement in which a planetary gear (3) meshing with the periphery of a sun gear (2) fixed to an input shaft (1) meshes with a sun gear (5) fixed to an output shaft (4), a hydraulic oil discharge control valve (11) is provided at the discharge port of a hydraulic pump (10) driven by a gear (8) located on the outer periphery of the retaining frame (7) of the gear (3). This control valve (11) controls the amount of hydraulic oil discharge to thereby control the pump (10) and accordingly the rotation of the frame (7) so as to steplessly shift the speed of the output shaft (4) via the gear (3). Accordingly this transmission is useful for steplessly shifting the speed of a transportation equipment, machine tools, winches, conveyors and the like.
