The present invention displays a clear stereoscopic image by optimizing the display while achieving depth. A stereoscopic display apparatus is provided. The stereoscopic display apparatus comprises: a display unit; a display driver unit that displays, on the display unit, an element image of a stereoscopic image; a light source control unit that includes a first lens array disposed on the rear side of the display unit and including a plurality of first cylinder lenses arranged at a certain pitch, a second lens array disposed on the rear side of the first lens array and including a plurality of second cylinder lenses arranged at a greater pitch than the first cylinder lenses, a plurality of line light sources respectively arranged on the rear sides of the second cylinder lenses, and a diffusion sheet provided between the display unit and the first lens array and disposed at a position including the respective focal positions of the first cylinder lenses; and a light source driver unit that drives the line light sources for illuminating the element image.
