Abstract:
A constitution for a stereoscopic display device wherein a state of low crosstalk can be maintained even if an observer moves is obtained. A stereoscopic display device (1) is provided with: a display panel (10) that displays an image; a switching liquid crystal panel (20) disposed so as to be superimposed upon the display panel (10); a position sensor for acquiring position information on the observer; and a control unit that displays a parallax barrier formed in synchrony with a transmitting region and non-transmitting region along a prescribed alignment direction on the switching liquid crystal panel (20) and moved along the alignment direction according to the position information. The switching liquid crystal panel (20) includes: a liquid crystal layer (23) in which the refractive index anisotropy is Δn is 0.14 or less; a first substrate (21) and a second substrate (22) that face each other sandwiching the liquid crystal layer (23); and an electrode group that is formed on at least one of the first substrate (21) and the second substrate (22) and contains a plurality of electrodes disposed along the alignment direction.
