Abstract:
This stereoscopic display device comprises: an optical element which restricts, to a visible position, a (2h-1)th image of the right eye of an hth(h: natural number) observer and a 2hth image of the left eye of the hth observer; and a display that includes a display surface which includes a plurality of pixels arranged along a first direction and a second direction, and that displays the (2h-1)th image and the 2hth image. At least one of a (2h-1)th viewpoint region, which renders the (2h-1)th image visible, and a 2hth viewpoint region, which renders the 2hth image visible, is wider than the distance between the eyes of the observer. The stereoscopic display device: displays the (2h-1)th image using (n(2h-1)) pixels and displays the 2hth image using (n(2h)) pixels; and performs control to move, on the basis of positional data indicating hth eye positions, the position of at least one of a (2h-1)th interocular boundary, which is a boundary between the right eye and the left eye of the hth observer, and a (2h-1)th inter-observer boundary, which is a boundary between the hth observer and a (h+1)th observer.
