Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a highly reliable storage apparatus in which appropriate performance improvement according to the status of the storage device can be performed, and a device and a method for controlling the storage apparatus. [Solution] The storage apparatus is provided with: an acquisition unit that acquires an IO amount with respect to one of host devices in which data stored in a prescribed one of a plurality of storage device groups is associated with a volume for referring to the data; a determination unit that determines whether there is a combination, among combinations of the host devices and the storage device groups, in which a total IO amount from the host device is smaller than the upper limit of the IO amount of the storage device group; and a processing unit for carrying out active copy of data to the storage device group that stores data and that is of the combination in which the total IO amount is smaller, and for changing the reference destination data of the volume for referring to the data, from the data to the one that has been obtained through the active copy to the storage device group.
