Abstract:
In this storage battery system, which operates while adjusting the capacity of a battery pack, the battery pack comprises multiple battery cells connected in series and is provided with a capacity-adjusting controller. The controller acquires the cell state from each of the multiple cells, generates control commands on the basis of the acquired cell states, and, in the process of adjusting the capacity of the battery cells of the battery pack that have a voltage outside the permitted range, determines, by means of the control commands, battery cells with a voltage deviation greater than or equal to a prescribed value with respect to the average voltage of the battery pack to be abnormal cells. Further, the deviation between the voltages of the battery cells and the average voltage of the battery pack may be calculated and a cell may be determined to be abnormal if, for example, the deviation is beyond 3σ in a normal distribution. By this means, an abnormal cell detection method is provided which can detect abnormal cells at an early stage.
