Abstract:
In order to enable a storage device to write data at a high speed, this storage device is equipped with a data area and a control unit, with write locations in the data area being specified by means of write addresses. The control unit writes data to a write address when instructed to write data to the write address. When a failure occurs in the writing of that data the control unit generates, as a replacement write address, an address other than the write address where the writing occurred, and then writes the data to that replacement write address.
