Abstract:
In one example of the present invention, a storage management system holds multiple capping templates. A capping template shows a combination of capping levels of the amounts of multiple resource performance types allocated to a volume. The storage management system calculates the allocatable amount of resource performance to a new volume in each capping level, and selects, on the basis of the allocatable amount, a capping template and resource set satisfying the performance requirement values of the new volume. The storage management system acquires the capping template and resource set used for provisioning the new volume based on the selected capping template and resource set.
