Abstract:
A streaming media transmission method and apparatus, relating to the technical field of communications, and used for solving the problem of ensuring transmission quality of streaming media having extremely complex QoS requirements. The method comprises: a streaming media server receives a first message sent by a terminal device, the first message comprising a streaming media identifier, and the first message being configured to request a streaming media corresponding to the streaming media identifier; the streaming media server processes the streaming media according to scalable video coding (SVC) to obtain at least one data stream, and the streaming media server determines the quality of service (QoS) for each data stream; the streaming media server sends a second message to a first edge streaming media server, the second message comprising the QoS of each data stream in the at least one data stream, and the second message indicating that the first edge streaming media server transmits the at least one data stream to the terminal device by using resources corresponding to the QoS of each data stream.
