Abstract:
Provided is a structure for molten metal that can be used for, inter alia, a trough for molten metal or a molten-metal-holding furnace, and that is provided with a means for avoiding the degradation of a molten-metal-receiving part when high-temperature molten metal is fed to the molten-metal-receiving part over a long period of time. The structure for molten metal is provided with a flow path for molten metal fed from above, the flow path being provided with a molten-metal-receiving part for receiving molten metal fed from above, a holding part that is capable of transporting the fed molten metal along the flow path and that has a concave cross-section perpendicular to the direction of the flow path, and a molten metal outlet capable of discharging the molten metal. The holding part has, on the inner side thereof, a bottom surface inclined along the flow path. The molten-metal-receiving part has a guide component for guiding the molten metal to the holding part, the guide component having, on the inner side thereof, a bottom surface inclined along the flow path. The guide component has a structure enabling the guide component to be detached and exchanged. In the direction along the flow path, the incline angle of the bottom surface of the guide component is greater than the incline angle of the bottom surface of the holding part.
