Abstract:
This substance detection device subjects first non-visible light to wavelength modulation and emits the first non-visible light into a detection area in the horizontal direction and vertical direction, receives second non-visible light resulting from the reflection of the first non-visible light by a substance within the detection area, changes the emission directions of the first non-visible light and the reception directions of the second non-visible light within the detection area, generates a substance position image indicating the results of detecting the presence of the substance in the detection area on the basis of a wavelength characteristic of the second non-visible light, calculates representative values indicating the detection results for m × n (where m and n are integers greater than or equal to 2) single pixels composing single frames of a visible light image and the substance position image, and displays the calculation results on a monitor so as to be superposed on corresponding pixels of the visible light image.
