Abstract:

A novel agricultural chemical, especially an insecticide or acaricide. It is a pest control agent containing either a substituted benzanilide compound represented by the general formula (1): [wherein W¹ and W² each represents oxygen, etc.; X represents halogeno, etc.; Y represents (C_1-6 alkyl)thio(C_1-6 alkyl), (C_1-6 alkyl)sulfonyl(C_1-6 alkyl), etc.; R² and R³ each represents hydrogen, etc.; R⁴ represents C_1-6 haloalkyl, etc.; R⁵ represents, e.g., phenyl substituted by (Z)_p1; Z represents halogeno, etc.; m and n each is an integer of 0 to 4; and p1 is an integer of 1 to 5] or a salt of the compound. Also provided is the benzanilide compound or salt.
