Disclosed are a separation method and an analysis device which improve the analysis sensitivity in the analysis of reducing sugar by a postcolumn fluorescence detection / borate complex anion exchange method. Said separation analysis method uses a reducing sugar postcolumn fluorescence detection / borate complex anion exchange method, and involves arranging a back pressure generator in a flow path between a fluorescence detector and a heater which heats and reacts a sample solution, which has been separated by column chromatography, together with basic amino acids.
