Abstract:
The invention relates to novel compounds of formula (I) or a salt thereof: in which the group D is selected from a group of formula (A), (B) or (C). Compounds of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts have 5HT6 receptor antagonist activity and are believed to be of potential use in the treatment of certain CNS disorders such as anxiety, depression, epilespy, obsessive compulsive disorders, migraine, cognitive memory disorders e.g. Alzheimers disease, Parkinson' Disease, ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder/Hyperactivity Syndrome), sleep disorders (including disturbances of Circadian rhythym), feeding disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, panic attacks, withdrawal from drug abuse such as cocaine, ethanol, nicotine and benzodiazepines, schizophrenia, and also disorders associated with spinal trauma and/or head injury such as hydrocephalus. Compounds of the invention are also expected to be of use in the treatment of certain GI (gastrointestinal) disorders such as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
