Abstract:
One goal of embodiments of the present invention is to provide manufacturing methods for producing high-temperature superconducting (NTS) and medium-temperature superconducting (MTS) materials for use in commercial applications. It is, thus, a related goal of some embodiments of the present invention to provide HTS/MTS devices. For example, the method of one embodiment produces a robust magnet configuration for use in the first fully-cold (liquid cryogen) HTS linear, rotary, curve, etc., device. The devices described herein are designed to function at liquid nitrogen (LN2) temperatures using existing HTS material and/or traditional materials that support SC's lower cryogenic temperatures.
