Title:
SUPERCONDUCTIVE CRYOGENIC PUMP FOR FORCIBLY CIRCULATING CRYOGENIC COOLANTS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/061893
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a superconductive cryogenic pump for forcibly circulating cryogenic coolants. The main technical features of the present invention relates to the cryogenic pump for forcibly circulating cryogenic coolants, such as helium, hydrogen, neon, argon, nitrogen, methane, and oxygen, in gas or liquid form, wherein the cryogenic pump is formed so that a superconductive ring is additionally provided on a rotary shaft of a pump when rotating, thereby allowing an impeller to separate by means of non-contact magnetic levitation due to the Meissner effect of superconductivity and rotate without friction and thus secure a semi-permanently life of a rotor in the cryogenic pump, so as to maximize durability of the pump and significantly improve driving efficiency of the pump.
