Abstract:
A support frame for a foldable ladder comprises separable plates collectively configured to circumscribe an opening and connection sites at opposing ends of each plate to facilitate connection with adjacent plates. A strut positioning system (600) comprises one strut (602); a track configured for mounting in a fixed position relative to and along a lateral side of an opening; a slide plate configured for translational movement within said track from a first position corresponding to a non-compressed state of said strut to a second position corresponding to a compressed state of said strut; a locking member for locking said slide plate in said second position; wherein, upon connection of an end of said strut to the ladder and compression of said strut, said slide plate is locked in said second position by said locking member. The invention relates also to a method for installing a foldable ladder using this system.
