Abstract:
A surface lighting device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with a light source substrate (15), a light guide plate (13) and a spacer (14). The light source substrate (15) comprises a plurality of light sources (15b) that are aligned in one direction. The light guide plate (13) has an end face on which light from the light sources (15b) is incident. The spacer (14) maintains the clearance between the light sources (15b) and the end face of the light guide plate (13) at a predetermined value. Optical sheets (17, 18, 19) are affixed to the spacer (14).
