Abstract:
The invention relates to a surface machining apparatus (10), in particular a manual grinder, comprising a machining member (20) that has at least one machining surface (21-23) for grinding or polishing a workpiece surface (O); the machining member (20) includes a planar surface portion (26) with a planar machining surface (21) for machining planar workpiece surfaces (O) and at least one curved portion (27) with a curved machining surface (22-23) for machining curved workpiece surfaces (O). The curved portion (27) on said machining apparatus (10): - extends across a side of the machining member (20) that lies opposite the planar surface portion (26), - has a plurality of curved sections (31-36) which adjoin each other without interruption and each of which has a different radius of curvature (R1-R5), and - does not protrude beyond the planar machining surface (21-23) of the planar surface portion (26).
