Abstract:
A method for surface modification, comprising the following steps: a) providing a first substrate comprising a metal material; b) forming a colored precursor layer on the first substrate by means of vapor deposition, such that the colored precursor layer uses a non-planar contour of the first substrate so as to form a combined substrate with the first substrate; and c) converting a colored precursor in at least one predetermined portion of the colored precursor layer into a light deflection agent to form a modified layer exhibiting a preferred color. A method for changing the color of an article. There is also provided an article comprising a seamlessly bonded substrate.
