Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a surface-treated steel foil for current collectors, the surface-treated steel foil having suitable hydrogen barrier properties. [Solution] A surface-treated steel foil for current collectors, the surface-treated steel foil having a first surface and a second surface that is on the reverse side of the first surface. This surface-treated steel foil for current collectors is characterized by comprising a base material that is formed of a steel, and an iron nickel alloy layer that is superposed on the base material on the first surface side and/or the second surface side, while being also characterized in that: Fe1Ni1 is contained as an alloy phase in the iron nickel alloy layer; and with respect to a surface that comprises the alloy layer, the ratio of the maximum value of the diffraction intensity of the Fe1Ni1 (311) plane to the maximum value of the diffraction intensity of the Fe (211) plane in the X-ray diffraction pattern satisfies formula (1). (1): I(Fe1Ni1(311))/I(Fe(211)) ≥ 0.015
