A surface-treated steel sheet pertaining to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a base steel sheet and a plating layer which is disposed on the surface of the base steel sheet and contains Ni and W, wherein: in a region extending to the depth of 150 nm from the outermost surface of the plating layer, the ratio of an average value of W concentration, in terms of unit atomic%, to the total of an average value of Ni concentration, the average value of W concentration, and an average value of Fe concentration is 2.0 to 20.0 atomic%; and in a region extending from the depth of 150 nm to the depth of 300 nm of the plating layer, the ratio of an average value of W concentration, in terms of unit atomic%, to the total of an average value of Ni concentration, the average value of W concentration, and an average value of Fe concentration is 0.7 times or less of the ratio in the region extending to the depth of 150 nm from the outermost surface of the plating layer.
