Abstract:
The present invention relates to a surface-treated steel wire having a zinc phosphate coating on the surface of a steel wire, the deposited amount of the zinc phosphate coating being 4.0-7.0 g/m2, and the average crystal particle diameter of the zinc phosphate in the zinc phosphate coating being 70 µm or less. This surface-treated steel wire can be manufactured by performing a combination of a descaling step for removing scale adhering to the surface of the steel wire, and a surface adjustment step for processing the surface of the steel wire which has been subjected to the descaling step through use of a surface adjuster for increasing the reactivity of the surface.
